Valve has announced that Steam Game Recording has been released for all PC and Steam Deck users. The new built-in system for game recording offers a variety of tools for users, allowing them to capture highlights of their gameplay, record lengthy play sessions, and share them online through the Steam overlay.

Similar to Nvidia’s GeForce Experience, Steam Game Recording has a background-recording mode. This can be fine-tuned to continually record footage while you play according to a specified duration and storage limits. The recording software also offers a quick-replay function so you can see where you went wrong in a game, as well as tools to make it easy to find and clip your gameplay footage. Gameplay will be recorded in an MPEG-4 format, in a folder designated by the user.

This could be especially interesting for users, as you’ll be able to drop markers as reference points and Steam has provided tools for developers to create “timeline-enhanced” games that can proactively notify Steam when relevant events happen. “These events are represented along the timeline with details specified by developers,” Steam explained.

The timeline-enhanced feature could be w…

Far Cry 6 got a new trailer during the E3 2021 Ubisoft Forward presentation, showing protagonist Dani (female version) and a small group of escapees on a fishing boat that is quickly boarded by the villainous Anton Castillo. It sets the stage for a major confrontation we’re sure to have with the character, played by Giancarlo Esposito.

The Far Cry 6 cinematic appeared to be in-engine rather than a pre-rendered cutscene. Castillo ruthlessly executes a woman on the boat before pointing to a young boy, who happens to be his own son.

Once in a while, a renowned series from the past makes a welcome return after years in hiding. In their day, Syberia 1 and 2 were regarded as distinguished point-and-click adventure games that captured both mysticism and mystery, but 13 years later, most of that has been lost in Syberia 3. Although the threads that weave this series together return, its delivery is wholly underwhelming. Dialogue feels disconnected and the important moments lack impact, resulting in a story-centric game that rings hollow.

You play as series protagonist Kate Walker, an adventurous ex-lawyer from New York who ended up in Eastern Europe after helping one Hans Voralberg fulfill his dream: to ride the once-mythical mammoths on the island of Syberia. She leaves the island and is found by the Youkol tribe nearly frozen to death, and this is where Syberia 3 begins. Having been saved by the Youkol, Kate is compelled to help them overcome the roadblocks along their sacred migration across the Eurasian landmass. Many pieces of the previous game remain–the robotic Automatons built by the Voralberg family, Kate’s vehement departure from home, and the aforementioned Youkol, a spiritual indigen…

For the fourth year in a row, a Nintendo Switch holiday bundle will be available to purchase in the coming weeks. The bundle once again comes with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and three months of Nintendo Switch Online–just like it did last year. It will be available to purchase at participating retailers starting November 20, which is the beginning of Black Friday week. Like usual, the Switch holiday bundle will retail for $300.

Though Nintendo hasn’t confirmed which retailers will have the bundle in stock, historically the bundle has been available at all major retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target. Despite widespread availability, the bundle will almost certainly sell out quickly. For the past three years, the Switch holiday bundle has been one of the most popular gaming items during Black Friday.

It’s important to note that this bundle comes with the regular Nintendo Switch console, not the OLED model that released last year. It’s unclear if we’ll see deals on the Switch OLED during Black Friday. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

After being formally announced earlier this month, Season 2 of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier has officially begun, bringing in a new summon, new fighting style, and more. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

Season 2’s biggest addition–in size and in gameplay impact–is the Bahamut summon to the battlefield. Players can attempt to defeat Bahamut if they see it flying around the arena; felling the beast sometimes drops the Bahamut Summon Materia, effectively adding the supremely powerful summon to your squad at your command.

After receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at DICE 2022 last week, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer commented on how the gaming community should treat developers with dignity and respect. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

“Keep playing, keep using your voice, understand the power of creativity, the power of community,” Spencer said to IGN. “And the other thing I would just say is, let’s respect creators. I think it’s very often that creations can be kind of weaponized and used in battles between platforms and other things. I look at everybody who is brave enough to create something, put it out. Have their peers, the industry, players, play and analyze and talk about what they do, and let’s just celebrate the fact that so many great games are coming out from so many creators, and realize that’s such a foundation for where this industry is going to go.”

This isn’t the first time that Spencer has spoken about toxicity in gaming, having previously discussed how Microsoft would like to help get rid of bad actors in the online gaming landscape by creating a multi-network program that could extend Xbox bans to netw…
